If there is metal to recycle on the map, this stage is very easy and fast to get through, if not, you will be a bit slower. Stage 2: Maybe 3 or 4 minutes into the game (depends on the map layout) and how fast the simulation is running. This should all happen in the first few minutes of game play. The initial cluster of 4 is usually a good choice, but on some maps they are very vulnerable. This is your air protection.įinally in the last part of stage 1, get a group of engineers, maybe 4 or 5 to start building metal storage around your metal extractors, building these storage one the ‘safest’ metal extractors that are not to far away. The air factory begins to produce nothing but t1 interceptors on a constant basis. The next batch goes to the air factory, and the rest can help out the other factories. The first factory should get several assists first so that it can produce engineers fast. The rest of the engineers produced to into assisting factories.
Do not make one engineer plant 10 of them, spread the load over a few of the engineers. The next few engineers go to nearby metal spots to make extractors. The 2nd or third engineer goes to make more factories, usually an air one, and a few ground ones. If there is some good recyclable wreckage somewhere (like in the middle of Seton’s clutch) it might not be a bad idea to send the first engineer there. Generally the first engineer goes to the hydrocarbon spot and makes a plant there. The first factory you make only makes engineers. When that is done you can either assist the factory or build strips of T1 power off somewhere (if you assist the factory, then make sure you have several engineers do this). As it stands now, unless you are on a tiny map, you need to always expand your economy above all else and only build minimal defenses until later on.īasically start out ACU making a two power, two metal, a factory, power, 2 metal, and then build a lot more power around your first factory. Much of what everyone knows about SC now is going out the door when the expansion comes out.
